Holiday cottage located in Snowdonia National Park
Welcome to Carreg Cottage
Carreg Cottage is a recently renovated cottage in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Located in Capel Curig it is perfectly located for exploring the majestic beauty of the Snowdonian mountains and coast line. With views over Moel Siabod and Snowdon and a cosy wood burning stove, this is the perfect place for a holiday or short break.
The cottage is in the centre of the mountains with footpaths from the front door leading up Moel Siabod, down the Ogwen and Llugwy valleys, or over the tops to the beautiful lakes of Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd. It is just a short drive to the main car parks for walks up Snowdon (the highest mountain in England and Wales) or you can hop on a bus right outside the cottage to Pen y Pass.
The cottage has been set up to cater for outdoor activities with a large utility room for storing, washing and drying outdoor kit and muddy boots.
Within walking distance are three pubs, the Bryn Tyrch, the Tyn y Coed and the bar at Plas Y Brenin all of which serve food.
The bustling tourist towns of Betws y Coed and Beddgelert are a few minutes away with a range of grocery, outdoor and gift shops as well as excellent coffee shops and eateries. Within an hour you can visit the beautiful beaches and coastlines of Anglesey, Llandudno and Lleyn peninsula or tour the castles of Beaumaris, Penryn, Harlech and Caernarfon.
The ever increasing range of adventure activities in Snowdonia (notably 4 Zip World centres) can all be easily accessed from the cottage.
Come and visit for a week or for a weekend or mid week break. We would be delighted to welcome you!
